Bollywood stylist and designer Pernia Qureshi said that floral headbands are nice options, but ensure the flower doesn't overpower your head and try to keep things somewhat proportionate so you don't look like you're about to topple over.
Rod Anker, Creative Director of Monsoon Salons and Spa, said that different hairstyles - updos, down hairstyles, side dos and half up half down hairstyles - all look great with a headband.
Anker also advised against using metal or rubber bands as they will cause too much friction on the hair and cause it to break or become weak at the point of securing it.The quality of the hairband can vary, however avoid the ones with a hair clip attached as they too will catch hair and cause breakage, he added.
Those with longer hair can actually braid a section of hair on the side and use the braid as a headband.
