Gurgaon girl scolded for using mobile, commits suicide in school

A class 12 student of a leading private school here was on Thursday found dead in the school premises, police said.
The deceased was identified as the daughter of a Delhi-based businessman and resident of DLF phase-4 area here.
"Her body was found hanging in the washroom on the second floor of the school around 1:45 pm," a school spokesperson told IANS.
The girl took admission in the school last year in class 11 (commerce stream) and was said to be good at studies.
"Thursday was the unit test of English subject and she was appreciated by her subject teacher for performing well in the exam," a school teacher who did not wish to be named told IANS.
Another teacher, meanwhile, said that the girl was allegedly caught talking on a mobile phone in the school premises on Thursday in violation of a rule banning their use in the premises, and her class teacher snatched away the phone and threatened her that her parents will be informed about this.
"It was not confirmed whether the mobile phone belonged to her or some one else. The deceased requested the class teacher not to inform her father about the phone and went missing from the class," the teacher said.
Her body was later found hanging from the exhaust fan of the washroom.
However, a relative said that though teachers claim that the girl committed suicide, the circumstances indicated that it was murder.
"From where did she get the cloth to hang herself? Even the wrist of her hand had cuts on it," the relative added.
Experts from Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and units of crime branches along with police were examining the crime spot.
"We are investigating the case. No suicide note has been recovered yet," said a senior police officer.
