OnePlus to Manufacture OnePlus 3T 64GB Variant in India From January


OnePlus India, as expected, on Friday unveiled the upgraded variant of the OnePlus 3, the OnePlus 3T. The smartphone will be going on sale from December 14 via its exclusive online retail partner, Amazon India. OnePlus 3T has been launched in a 64GB model priced at Rs. 29,999 and the 128GB model priced at Rs. 34,999.

At the event, Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India told Gadgets 360 that the company will continue to sell the OnePlus 3 - reiterating what the company said last month - though he confessed that ultimately the focus will come to the upgraded OnePlus 3T. He also revealed that OnePlus will start manufacturing the OnePlus 3T in India from next month.

"We will continue with the OnePlus 3 for the foreseeable future but eventually the focus will shift to the OnePlus 3T. We are also gearing to start manufacturing OnePlus 3T in India from next month. For the company, the future will be around the OnePlus 3T."


Agarwal added that initially, OnePlus will only manufacture the 64GB variant of the OnePlus 3T. On being asked whether the company plans to manufacture the 128GB variant as well, Agarwal responded, "We will see how the market requirement comes. As 128GB is more premium so it will depend on the response from the market and we can take a call on it only after the initial response is positive."

Agarwal stressed that the company will promote its brand new exclusive e-commerce platform in India. The company's official website - oneplusstore.in was launched in October and sells OnePlus accessories via the store. Consumers, however, are redirected to Amazon India when they try to buy any smartphone from the store.

OnePlus 3T India Launch Set for December 2


OnePlus India has finally confirmed that the OnePlus 3T smartphone will be launching early next month. In a tweet, OnePlus India announced the December 2 launch date for the OnePlus 3T.


Considering that the OnePlus 3 is just merely five months old in the market and it has already received an upgrade in the form of OnePlus 3T, it will be interesting to see how the company sells both the phones in various India.

The new OnePlus 3T looks identical to the original OnePlus 3 though there are some upgrades under the hood. The new variant packs an all-new Snapdragon 821 SoC, a bumped front-facing camera, a new 128GB storage model, and even a new colour variant. The OnePlus 3T smartphone despite featuring upgrades has been given a modest price hike. It has already gone on sale in the US while in Europe it will be available starting Saturday, and from Monday in the UK.


Coming to pricing, OnePlus 3T 64GB has been priced at $439 (roughly Rs. 29,800), while the 128GB model will come at $479 (roughly Rs. 32,500). To recall, the OnePlus 3 was launched at $399 (priced at Rs. 27,999 in India) - and it was only available in a 64GB model.

For specifications, the OnePlus 3T sports a faster quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor (two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two cores clocked at 2.35GHz) compared to the Snapdragon 820 processor on the older OnePlus 3. It comes in both 64GB and 128GB storage options, compared to just a 64GB variant on the OnePlus 3. On the camera side, the OnePlus 3T is superior in terms of camera resolution. The OnePlus 3T has 16-megapixel cameras on both - rear and front - sides.

The newer OnePlus 3T gets a bigger 3400mAh battery, compared to the 3000mAh battery seen on the OnePlus 3. The Dash Charge fast charging technology is included in the OnePlus 3T as well.

OnePlus 2 to Get VoLTE Support in Next Quarter; OnePlus One, OnePlus X To Miss Out


OnePlus on Tuesday announced that the OnePlus 2 users will be soon be able to take advantage of VoLTE (voice over LTE) connectivity. In a forum post, the company announced that it will roll out an OTA update to OnePlus 2 users in the next quarter, enabling VoLTE support. OnePlus India also hinted that previous smartphones including the OnePlus One and OnePlus X won't be receiving the VoLTE support.

For those unaware, the OnePlus 3 already supports VoLTE with HD calling support. "Over last several months, we have been closely collaborating with all telecom partners to enable a full repertoire of upcoming technologies and services including VoLTE out of the box on our latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3," said Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India in a forum post.


Though, OnePlus India hasn't confirmed a specific release time for the update that enables VoLTE on the OnePlus 2. Agarwal said that the VoLTE feature was one of the most requested features from users in India, especially after the launch of Reliance's Jio services.

For OnePlus One and OnePlus X users who want to experience better call quality on Jio network, Agarwal added that they use Jio4GVoice app (formerly known as JioJoin app).

OnePlus 3 launched in India at Rs 27,999; will come with Snapdragon 820, 6GB RAM and more


OnePlus has finally announced its latest flagship device, the OnePlus 3, in the VR launch event held earlier tonight. The latest flagship is exclusively available on the Virtual Store for the people experiencing the launch in Virtual Reality via the OnePlus 3 VR app, and later will go on sale exclusively through Amazon India at 12.30 AM on 15 June at Rs 27,999.

OnePlus 3 houses the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset which has a quad-core processor clocked at 2.15 GHz coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. This will be paired with 6GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is no provision to add in extra storage via a microSD card slot.


OnePlus 3 sports a 5.5-inch full HD Optic AMOLED display with 401 ppi pixel density and is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The front has a fingerprint sensor right below the screen and the alert slider used to control the profiles of the phone can be found at the top of the left-hand edge along with the volume rocker.

The device sports a 16MP f/2.0 rear shooter with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and laser focus coupled with LED Flash along with an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. In terms of connectivity, the OnePlus 3 offers dual nano SIM along with Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Wi-fi, GPS and DLNA. It has kept the 3.5mm headphone jack with reversible USB 3.0 Type-C port on the bottom with Dash Charge technology, proprietary implementation of quick charge support by OnePlus. It will run Oxygen 3.1.2 out of the box based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Indian users will get complimentary subscription of 12 months of ad-free Saavn Pro. In addition to that, through OnePlus’ partnership with Idea Cellular Indian users will be able to enjoy ‘double data’ for 12 months. A third exciting offer lets OnePlus users avail 12 months of accidental damage coverage through the ‘OnePlus Care app’ powered by Servify.

The Graphite variant of the OnePlus 3 will be available exclusively on Amazon.in, 12:30AM onwards starting 15 June for Rs 27,999, whereas the Soft Gold variant will be launched in the near future.
