On Monday, Korea Times reported that, the study that was conducted in South Korea noted that the 52 percent of the women in the survey used their smartphones for around four hours a day or may be longer than the comparable ratio of 29.4 percent among men.
The ratios of the respondents who use the smartphones for six hours a day were also 22.9 percent for women and for men it was 10.8 percent.
In South Korea according to Professor ChangJae-Yeon of the Ajou University, his study was based on s survey of 1,236 students at the six colleges in the Suwon, Gyeonggi province.
Chang said in a paper that was published in the journal Public Health Reports, that they expect adolescents are likely to show similar results. While the female users are advised to consciously put their phones out of their reach from time to time.
Mainly for the social networking websites women pick up their smartphones that includes Facebook and Instagram, they use these services far more than just making calls, games and searches combined.
The report added that the women look at their phone screens while talking with others and also on the move, while men use smartphones during breaks.
For women, the addiction to their smartphones has gone beyond the simple hobbies to have reached the stage that is adversely affecting their mental health.
Women’s desires for communication and networking are far stronger than men’s, that drive them to become more dependent on the social network service i.e. SNS via their smartphones.
