Virtual reality has really got boost it needed after the Google unleashed its Daydream project at I/O this year. In the meanwhile, many smartphone-based VR headsets are also hitting the market, where the users can slip their smartphones in and can experience immersive viewing. The virtual reality viewing is limited to resolution that the smartphone provides. Today most of the smartphones have a full-HD (1080/1920 pixels) display and many go so far as QHD (1440/2560 pixels) providing the better experience in VR.
However, the 4K (2160/3840 pixels) resolution display will elevate viewing experience in the virtual reality and in San Francisco judging by Samsung’s small display and 4K display on the smartphones may soon become the reality.
The company claims that the 4K UHD at the Display Week was just a prototype and it boasts of 806ppi pixel density, 350nit brightness and 97 percent colour gamut. With the Galaxy Note 5, Samsung was rumoured to bring 4K display but that does not happen and the phablet adopted a QHD display of 1440/2560 pixels. The Note 6 has been also tipped off to come with the 4K display, however the contradicting reports of 2K QHD display also have surfaced. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to include a 6GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a Snapdragon 820 SoC and 12-megapixel rear camera with the Dual Pixel setup.Needless to say, all the rumors must take with the pinch of salt until the official release.
