App to make a change took five Bengaluru girls to global platform
In Bengaluru five girls of the New Horizon Public School, who have made it to the finals in the international competition Technovation 2016 by blending technology with the social cause, have the answer i.e. their innovation, ChangEd – Change for Eduation through donation i.e. an Android mobile application will allow drivers and shopkeepers to donate the balance amount that they are liable to pay back to the customers through the payment gateway i.e Paytm.
Shopkeepers those who are registering with the will be given a Paytm gateway account and instead of paying the changes of Rs 2 or Rs 5 to the customers, they can easily transfer it through app too raise the funds for NGOs that are tied up with the ChangEd to carry out the education-related projects.
Aanchal Agarwal, a team member said that if a customer pays Rs 50 for a product that costs Rs 48, then the shopkeeper generally gives a candy of Rs 2 balance. So, if all the money that goes unaccounted for in transactions like these can also be credited to a particular account and later then it will be raised as funds for the betterment of the society. Anyone can access the app and can donate money to support NGOs.
To know the results, the team chosen along with four other institutes from the different countries in the middle school category on July 13 will visit to San Francisco. Also the competition that was hosted in San Francisco, will encourages various girls from across the world to make their mark in the technology entrepreneurship.
