Sony Launches High-End MDR-1000X Noise Cancelling Headphones in India

Sony has launched the MDR-1000X active noise-cancelling headphones in India at a price of Rs. 30,990. The headphones are Bluetooth-enabled, letting you wirelessly connect to smartphones and other devices for a more convenient listening experience.

Apart from Bluetooth and active noise cancellation, the headphones also have a few other advanced features built in to enhance the experience. The Personal NC Optimiser function is said to analyse the shape of your head and the way you wear the headphones to ensure ideal noise-cancellation. The inbuilt DSEE HX upscaling claims to improve sound quality on compressed audio files and bring it to high-resolution audio levels.
The Quick Attention Mode lets you place a hand on the touch-sensitive panel on the ear casing to reduce the volume when you need to have conversations. There's also an Ambient Sound mode which adjusts the sound levels to make it possible to listen to what's going on around you while listening to music.

The MDR-1000X headphones claim to have a whopping 20-hour battery life when using Bluetooth and active noise cancellation and come with an included cable for wired connectivity, an airline adapter, and a leather carry case. It's powered by 40mm drivers, and has a frequency response range of 4-40,000Hz, thereby meeting requirements of the high-resolution audio standard. Noise-cancellation can be switched on or off, and the headset also features NFC for quick connectivity to source devices.
Sony earlier this year launched the MDR-100ABN wireless noise-cancellation headphones at Rs. 21,990. With the launch of the more expensive MDR-1000X, Sony steps up its product line to include a more premium option with better features, directly taking on the QuietComfort line from Bose.
