How To Get Started With Video Marketing|stock rom go to rompure.com

Video marketing is basically a concept where companies or individuals come up with videos that are useful to the customer and also have some marketing message somewhere in the content. It could be an email address, a website or a telephone number. Usually, it is a very effective way of marketing; below is how to get started with it.

Video Marketing
What Kind of Video Content Do I Need?
Make sure your content is short. Typically, viewers have a lot of material competing for their attention. If your material is too long, there is a big chance that they will not see it to the end. Generally, your video should not be more than three minutes. Ideally, the shorter the material, the more likely the viewer will view it to the end.

Keep It Simple
Make everything simple, easy to follow and on point. Precise material is generally what people are looking for; beating around the bush is never a good idea. If you are bringing in a new product in the market and want to show users how it works, present it in a manner a layman can follow; in short, keep everything as simple as possible.

Video Placement
Make sure that your video is placed on strategically important websites. As a rule, if you are a fisherman, you will only throw your net in waters perceived to have more fish. This is not that much different in this business, putting your material in websites that viewers are likely to visit basically increases the chances of them actually viewing your content.

The Call to Action
Make sure your video has some call for action somewhere at the end. This could be a prompt to visit a certain website or contact a certain email or telephone number. This is important because it gives your target audience a chance to contact you while the idea is still fresh in their mind.

Editing is Everything
Hire an expert editor. A specialist is able to edit your content into something that can easily become a viral video. If you are unable to hire someone because of financial issues, you can always use a do it yourself software. In short, your material needs to be edited professionally to give it that perfect look.

Promote It Socially
Make sure you distribute your content to several social media networks. Dispensing your material in popular Social media networks is a big plus in your efforts to land potential clients. In social networks, it is very easy to receive thousands of views if you are providing helpful material.

Use the Right Text Descriptions
Take advantage of keywords. Generally, you should put five to seven keywords that are relevant to what the content is talking about. If a person were to search for a video with a keyword relevant to your material, chances are that your content would get a hit.

Invest in Good Equipment
Use the right equipment. While anyone can take a video with their phone and upload it, doing the same in marketing is never a good idea. You need to buy or hire a camera; lighting equipment and other tools that will make your videos look refined. This will give your content that touch of class you are looking for. Also, people will take your material more seriously if it looks elegant, special and professional.

Content Really Is King
Consult on how to get content that will appeal to the audience you intend to communicate to. It is not an easy thing to find material that will charm a particular group of people. You could be offering the right content but if it is not attractive to the target audience, they will not view it. If your target audience is the youth, using a young person or an influential personality they consider hip can be a good way to get their attention.

Summary - What We've Learned
In conclusion, to get started in this marketing strategy, you must offer content that is actually useful; people want solutions to problems, helpful material is basically what they are looking for. Secondly, you need to keep things short, precise and on point, nobody wants to watch a fifty minute video. Third, place the content on strategic websites; this way, viewers are able to access it with ease which is essentially what you want.

Fourth, any marketing content should have a call for action at the end. This basically presents the viewer with an opportunity to reach you. Fifth, you need to work with professionals; they have a way of making the material look better. Other things you should incorporate include use of keywords, using the right equipment and appealing to the target audience. Basically, that's how to get started with video marketing.

How to Connect a Laptop or Desktop Computer to a TV Easily|stock rom go to rompure.com

Suppose you wish to watch a movie or share a slide-show of pictures with your family on your PC but have a screen that leaves much to be desired. In such a situation, you can connect your computer to a television screen to allow your entire family to enjoy comfortably.

Connect Laptop Computer to Television
There are many ways in which you can connect your laptop/ computer to a television. However, the overall video quality will be different for different methods. You can choose which one to use based on the quality or the availability of hardware. The first step is to know what type of ports and connections your TV and computer have. If you already know the type of ports and connections available on your hardware, you can directly jump to Step 2. If not, then the different types of ports are explained in detail below:-

Connect PC or Laptop to TV
Different types of PC to TV connection ports
1) RCA/Composite: The oldest and the lowest quality connection available. They are the Yellow, Red and White connections most of us are familiar with. Yellow is used for composite video, white for left analog audio and red for right analog audio.

2) S-Video: S-Video or Super Video offers slightly better quality than Composite connections. As it is one of the oldest type of connections available, most televisions and computers have it. There are two types of S-Video ports, one containing 4 pins and the other containing 7 pins. This type of connection is used only for video. So you will need to connect an audio cable from your computer's headphone jack to the red and white audio inputs on your TV if you want audio to work.

3) VGA(Video Graphics Array): Most computers and televisions have a VGA port. It offers much better quality than S-Video and should be preferred if you have a HDTV. Older CRT TVs however, will not have a VGA port and will require a PC to Television converter. Just like S-Video, VGA also does not support audio and will require an additional audio cable.

Laptop Computer to TV
Different types of connecting cables to connect computers to TVs
4) DVI: Digital Video Interface offers much better quality than VGA connections. Most laptop computers and HD TVs will have these connections. Just as the name suggest, this type of connection can be used only with digital TVs. Also like the previous two, DVI connections also require the use of an audio cable for audio to work.

5) HDMI: The highest quality connections available. Most HD TVs will have this connection, however, chances are that your computer would not. If your computer happens to have a HDMI connection port, this should be preferably used. If your computer doesn't, you can use an HDMI to DVI adapter to convert HDMI to DVI.
connect laptop to tv

Step 2: Once a common type of port between the two devices is recognized, you will need the right connector cable to physically connect them. The different types of connector cables are pictured above. If you do not find two matching types of connection ports, you will need an adapter to make the connections type match.

Step 3: After connecting the two devices, on your TV, select the external input with which your TV is connected to the computer. It may be HDMI1 or AV1 depending on how you have made the connection. This is much similar to how you select input from your DVD player.

If you have followed the steps correctly, your TV should now be displaying your computer's screen.

Important: If your computer is not recognizing the external display, you must connect the TV before starting your computer. If the picture appears distorted, you will need to change the screen resolution of your TV by altering the display settings from your computer. Most older TVs will support only one display resolution while newer TVs will support plenty of them.

Notebook Accessories to Look Out For|stock rom go to rompure.com

The demand for notebooks has increased tremendously over the past few years. More and more consumers are choosing notebooks over traditional desktop computers. Netbook manufacturers are constantly adding new features to their products, thus making them even more attractive to users. Manufacturers are also frequently lowering prices in an attempt to create new customer segments for their products. Due to the dropping prices, more and more consumers are able to get access to notebooks. The other reason why notebooks are preferred by businessmen, students and working professionals is that they are portable.

Notebook Accessories
A common Notebook Cooling Pad

Due to the increasing use of notebooks in recent years, many computer manufacturers are now offering a wide variety of accessories and add-ons which are aimed at making the device more effective and thus enhancing the user experience. The following are some of the most important netbook accessories you need to look out for.

1. Surge protector
Netbooks, just like laptops and desktops, run on power. Very often, you will need to charge the device by plugging the power adapter into the wall outlet. The problem is that a sudden power surge can cause serious damage to a notebook. This is why a surge protector is very important. You can place it between the power adapter and the wall outlet so as to ensure safety. Surge protectors are very light and can therefore be carried around easily from one place to another.

2. Cooling stand
When used for a long period, netbooks can get very hot. When using a netbook on your lap or on a solid surface, it is therefore advisable to use a cooling stand between the surface and your notebook. The cooling stand has an in-built fan which keeps the notebook cool. When temperatures are kept low, the notebook can also save power. Therefore, if you intend to work on your netbook for long durations, a cooling stand is a very vital accessory for you.

3. Netbook stand
Contrary to popular belief, notebooks were not designed to be necessarily used on the lap. There are times when you might desire to use the netbook as a desktop PC. Some computer manufactures offer stands which can help you place your netbook on a desk, as well as use it with an external keyboard. Once you have finished working, you can easily disconnect the keyboard.

4. Bluetooth GPS
A Bluetooth GPS (Global Positioning System) is an important accessory for people who need to use the GPS feature to keep tabs on specific things. Besides the Bluetooth GPS, you might also want to install Google Map and an internet wireless modem into your netbook.

5. Portable speakers
The sound quality of notebooks is usually not sufficient for anyone who wants to watch a movie or listen to music. To experience good sound quality, you might want to add a couple of small speakers to your notebook. Such speakers are usually very light and can therefore be carried around easily.

6. Port replicator
Handling all the connections and wires of the netbook can be very frustrating. The port replicator or docking station makes it very easy to connect all the peripherals needed for operating the netbook.

7. Battery backup
When purchasing your netbook, make sure an extra battery or two. An extra battery would come in very handy especially when you are traveling for a long period. This way, you wouldn’t have to worry about short battery life.

8. Carrying case or backpack
A carrying case or backpack is a very important accessory for people who carry their netbooks around very frequently. These cases or backpacks come in a wide variety of designs and styles.

Why a hard drive has less storage space than promised ?|stock rom go to rompure.com

It has happened to most of us. We buy a new hard drive (or maybe a flash drive) with mind boggling storage capacity only to find that it has less space than what was mentioned on the box. Angered, we start cursing the manufacturer and our dealer for false marketing thinking that they should be sued for doing this. Hey, but have you ever wondered how they continue to do this again and again without getting into legal trouble?

The answer is that they are not marketing it falsely at all. Surprised? I'll explain.
hard drive

A manufacturer considers 1 Megabyte to be 1000 Kilobytes, 1 Gigabyte to be 1000 Megabytes, 1 Terabyte to be 1000 Gigabytes and so on. This is correct considering that kilo means 1000 and mega means 1000000 (10^6). However, computers calculate on base 2 and to them, 1 MB is actually 1024 kilobytes, 1GB is 1024MB and 1 TB is 1024GB. This difference in the method of computation is responsible for this "missing space."

Lets take an example of a 500 GB hard disk.

From a manufacturer's point of view, the 500GB will have 500*1000*1000*1000 = 500000000000 bytes.

From a computer's point of view, 500GB is actually 500*1024*1024*1024 = 536870912000 bytes.

So, a hard drive that promises to have 500 GB storage space will actually display 465.66GB, 536870912000-500000000000 = 36870912000 bytes (34.34GB) less storage space when connected to a computer.

Space Promised Displayed on a computer Difference
100GB 93.13GB6.87GB
250GB 232.83GB17.17GB
500GB 465.66GB34.34GB
1TB 931.32GB92.68GB
2TB 1862.64GB185.36GB

Take a look at the table given above to see how much space is "lost" due to computers working on a base 2 system. As you can see, with the increase in capacity of the storage device, there is an increase in the missing space.

How To Boost Your Phones Network Signal|stock rom go to rompure.com

Mobile phones are made so that you can be in contact with anyone no matter where you are and what you are doing. Smartphone is easy and most effective way to be in touch with anyone even if you are miles apart. It always keeps you connected. But sometimes signal failure is the most frustrating things that often occur as calls drops out mild conversations or text messages failure.

mobile phone signal booster

Lack of signal adversely affects your social life when you are dealing with client to run your business life. Everyone is switching from landline to cell phones and using more than one network service providers. But everyone has experienced dropped calls, broken voices, lack of signal and more.

There are ways to boost your network signals so that you can stay in touch with your world surrounded by your favorite people.

6 Ways to boost network signal in your phone

1. Increase your elevation
To get stronger signal strength you need to move higher in elevation or to be away from obstructions. The higher you are, the lesser will be the way to block to signal so it will make your phone to have better signal strength. If you are at the bottom of the hill, start climbing or if underground trying coming to first or second floor.

If you know where your local cell provider is, you can always point your phone nearer to those areas in order to eliminate all the possibility of obstacles in between your phone and network signals.

2. Try moving out or open the window
If you want to make phone call from deep inside buildings or underground then don’t be tensed because of bad signal strength. Buildings and large structure are unfriendly to adequate cell phone signals. If you are underground, you will likely receive no signal at all as cellular band radio waves do not effectively penetrate earth.

Try moving out for good network

3. Use External Antenna
The jack external antenna that plugins into the headphone jack of your smartphone promises the signal boost. It is true it will make your phone look like old-fashioned cell phones with this inconvenient addition. But you do not have to keep it all the time, when there is necessity, you can use it

Using external antenah for mobile network

4. Reset your mast
Mobile phones do not always connect to the closest phone mast. Instead phone maintains connection with the more distant mast in order to prevent jumping from mast to mast. Resetting the link between your phone and tower will make you phone to reconnect to the closer mast resulting in better and stronger signal strength. Turn your smartphone into flight mode for few seconds or restart your phone, this will help increase the signal strength

5. Get a signal booster
Some mobile networks provide devices as signal booster that connect to your network broadband and make it easier for you to make calls from your phone as normal. Or you can yourself get third-party gadget like repeater that will pick up weak signals outdoors and produce powerfull signals indoors.

6. Smartphone’s Apps
In this digital age, smartphone are called smart because they are and applications are being developed to provide flexibility and to make smartphone more effective in almost every fields. If your smartphone can’t solve any problem on its own, then it should not be called smart. There come various apps that will help you to boost signal strength of your phone. Also, download a signal map too for your smartphone; this will help you to let know direction of nearest cell tower and that would be extremely effective in locating better coverage.

OpenSignal Apps

OpenSignal
OpenSignal is one of the best and ultimate signal toolkits that always take care of your network connection. OpenSignal finds nearby free Wi-Fi hotspots. You can actually find out the best and worst places for 2G, 3G and 4G. With OpenSignal you can map cellular coverage, signal compass pints that will tell your direction from where signals are coming.

Introducing The Concept Of Web 3.0|stock rom go to rompure.com

Web 2.0 was an outstanding concept and it can be harder to manage another version that upstages it but that is exactly what Web 3.0 is going to do. Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the concept of Web 3.0. Web 2.0 had great impact on users just as it was designed to do. Web 3.0,  however, goes further with its focus on taking data to the user, instead of making him or her simply visit a tired old website. It really is a case of Web 2.0 being history!

Web 3.0

Web 2.0 Is The Interactive Web
Web 2.0 is focused on linking web pages within themselves. It is also focused on data sharing among websites and applications and also the use of social networking websites. When we think of Web 2.0, we think of the interactive web.

An Internet Of Intelligent Machines
Web 3.0, on the other hand, embeds intelligence in anything that exists online...not just a website. It makes use of web robots which are engineered to make decisions, should there be an absence of a user interface. Web 3.0 is about a web of data which often interfaces with itself, such as web applications not necessarily designed for users at all; but instead sometimes designed simply to feed data to other web applications being used by people around the internet. It represents all kinds of content that can be easily understood, no matter which computer program is used. This is done via communicating common semantic meanings as data is being shared.

Mobile Platforms
Web 3.0 is able to adapt so that it enhances the experience of the user with mobile gadgets. This is in response to the high and ever rising number of people who browse the net using mobile devices. People are now browsing more on their iPads, tablets and smart phones than on computers. This is why Web 3.0 frees the user from websites, and turns the internet into a repository of useful applications that work on various kinds of platforms.

How Web Designers Need To Adapt
It is now necessary for web design to be adapted to suit these devices. Web designers can create a number of different types of websites ranging from the classic ones for computers and then those that work for mobile gadgets. It is also possible to come up with websites that can be effectively browsed on both computers and mobile devices.

Today, web design is based on catchy images and styles and this needs web 2.0 to work effectively. Web 2.0 makes it possible for a web designer to use any color combinations because the linear gradients are displayed, all the way from the background to other smaller elements that appear on websites. The question then arises of how these designs and elements can work with web 3.0?

We're Talking Evolution, Not Revolution Here
Web 3.0 is being developed and quite fast but web 2.0 will still be used for some time to come. The data use that is being proposed by web 3.0 is still in the early stages of development. It will become an integrated part of the web bit by bit. It will present new technologies that will make it possible for more advanced infrastructures to be used. Web users will be able to enjoy a better browsing experience where they get more precise information and at significantly higher speeds. When it is fully integrated, web 3.0 will be a much more powerful application than web 2.0.

The Importance Of Minimalism
The web design that is currently being used has a minimalistic concept that will also work very well with web 3.0. It is still possible for a web designer to capture and lead the attention of browsers to what they wish the users to see. The same concepts will still apply when web 3.0 is fully integrated. Web designers will concentrate on letting content  be the central point of focus on websites, and they will avoid overusing elements that are distracting to the user experience, such as like ads and banners.

Web Design Web 3.0
Minimalistic Web Design will be one of the key features of Web 3.0

Also, the methods and trends that are being used in web 2.0 will not see much change in terms of their usage. However, there may be significant changes in the way this design is presented. The aspect where change will be seen is in how browsers will use the internet and not in the way they be will view different websites.

The Unfolding Story
For now, Web 3.0 and its potential continues to be an unfolding story.  Its full potential still remains to be harnessed, released and enjoyed. Its supremacy over web 2.0 will emerge once it's been fully integrated.

A Million Tiny Apps On A Million Running On A Million Different Platforms
As more and more mobile devices are introduced, and as the web continues to evolve from large websites toward a myriad of smaller applications on a multitude of different platforms, more and more people will come into contact with your content and your data.

The trend of following the minimalistic designs that these devices can support will therefore grow in tandem. Attractive buttons and gradients will still have a large following and web 3.0 will adhere to design trends that will be launched by web designers. However, the focus will move from form to content...from the medium to the message itself. It is only a matter of time until we will see a complete departure from web 2.0, and we will be able to truly say that: Web 2.0 is history!

How to Buy a Digital Camera|stock rom go to rompure.com

It’s not difficult to get lost in a sea of digital camera choices. Certain digital cameras are meant for professional photography while the rest are sufficient for capturing still life no matter where you’re at. We have brought the main digital cameras to your screen for viewing which would best suit your needs or work well as a gift.

Digital Camera Buying Guide
Photos of distant galaxies like this are made possible due to the latest developments in the camera industry.

Digital SLR Cameras
Should you have a limitless budget and have the desire for professional grade photos, the SLR cameras are perfect for you. They have the look of old-school 35mm cameras, the power to snap photos from afar with perfect definition and offer the option to remove the lens giving you the ability to use multiple lenses with different focal lengths and light sensitivity. They primarily come with 18mm or 36mm sensors for high-grade low light performance. These are definitely top-notch and not for the faint of heart. They are best for professional photographers, photophiles, paparazzi or trips to the mountains.

Point And Shoot Digital Cameras
Most current digital cameras will fall under this main category, although many types do exist. Point and shoot devices are small, compact and have megapixel ranges from 4MP all the way up to 12MP with some brands ranging higher. Below are the main types of point and shoot cameras that you could potentially choose from:
  1. Compact digital cameras: These cameras are meant for normal use, such as toting along to birthday parties or taking Christmas pictures. Kodak, Canon and Sony have excellent compact digital camera selections with variances in megapixel sizes ranging from 5.0MP to as high as 18MP. Compact cameras range in size from 20mm thick down to a credit card sized device.
  2. Bridge Cameras: With a close resemblance to a digital SLR camera, these are slightly larger than your compact models of point and shoot cameras. They have live previews to show you what you’ll be snapping, autofocus using a contrast detection mechanism, and offer long-range camera shots in a range somewhere between the SLR and compact digital camera.
  3. Super Zoom: These cameras are strikingly similar to their compact digital brothers yet come with 10x optical zoom options which allow far away shots to become extremely close. Some can control the inevitable camera shake through image stabilization software pre-installed.

What To Look For When Digital Camera Hunting

When shopping for digital cameras with foreign verbiage that tends to fluster us all, stick with the simple questions and follow this layman’s guide to seeking your next camera within your budget. Don’t try to understand what the salesman is saying about words you’ve never heard of and just tell him you’re looking for the following traits in your camera:

Image Quality
Most people are fooled into thinking the larger the megapixel of camera, the better off your images will be. ‘Megapixels’ (MP) are a measurement of amount of data captured and have little to nothing to do with image quality. Therefore, keep this simple rule of thumb when trying to ascertain what image quality is: 3-4MP cameras are perfect for 8 x 10 photos and 8MP cameras are great for 10 x 12 pictures. The quality will be lifelike should you stick with this rule. If you just want to send your buddy a funny picture through email every now and then, 2MP will work just fine.

Light-Friendly
The brighter the LCD screen is on your camera, the better it will appear in bright sunlight or other bright lighting scenarios. LCD Screen at the back of the camera should also have a decent size so that you can properly view photos before taking them.

Computer Connectivity
If you find a camera that doesn’t have the proper USB port or cable to connect your camera to the computer for adding them to Facebook or an online album, run. Any decent digital camera should have at the very least, the standard USB port and, for moving many large pictures at once, look on the box for USB 2.0 which simply means it’s a better cable with faster transfer rates.

Other Great Perks To Find

Along with having great lenses and thin sizes, people who aren’t acclimated to digital cameras should stick with the basics as stated above. Along with those, the following perks are nice for the beginner to novice user:
  1. Find the digital camera that has instructions in paper form. Kind of hard to put a CD in while out in the wilderness, no?
  2. For those who get easily flustered, find a camera that has the minimal number of large buttons so you can focus and shoot quickly without finding a tiny button between two other buttons.
  3. Internal memory storage would be great – most cameras come with Micro SD cards which hold 2-4GB worth of pictures (about 4000 large ones in total) with the ability to buy larger ones for relatively low prices. Simply take the SD card out, hand to a Walgreens or Wal-Mart associate and get your pictures developed.
  4. A digital camera that comes with Ni-Cad batteries and a charger is a treat; most will come with standard AAA batteries which can be upgraded to Energizer Max or the likes.
Cost is relative to the features you want. Obviously, the more bells and whistles you require, the higher the price tag. Simply gauge what you and your family need for regular use, bring this guide with you to find the best value for your money and you’ll be well on your way to snapping pictures right out of the box with brilliant results.

Protect A Wireless Network Against Intrusion|stock rom go to rompure.com

No amount of security features can withstand a determined and knowledgeable hacker. Fortunately, the chances of your home network becoming the target of a determined hacker are slim to none. Your knowledge of standard security options will be sufficient to prevent the vast majority of intrusions. Here are a few techniques to secure your wireless network against intrusion.

Protect Wireless Network Against Intrusion

WEP Encryption

This is the oldest method of password verification. 64-bit encryption uses a ten digit alpha-numeric password, and the 128-bit version requires a 28 digit password. Neither can withstand an intruder armed with easy-to-find cracking software, and other security options, including WPA and WPA2, will provide better access control.

WPA Encryption

Wireless Protected Access, or WPA, encryption takes the WEP standard two steps further. Most wireless networks now rely on it, and hackers have predictably devised tools to help crack it. WPA passwords can be from 8-32 characters. This password is encrypted to create another password for the router. The front door password will be changed periodically. Both passwords will be needed at the same time to gain access, yet anyone cracking the front door password will start a timer, which can be manually defined.

WPA2 Encryption

WPA2 appears to the user to function exactly the same as WPA. However, WPA2 avoids a problematic algorithm in WPA called the Temporary Key Integrity Protocol. WPA2 instead uses multiple algorithms to accomplish the same task as WPA, and this would make it the obvious first choice.

Some may find WPA2 actually slows the network connection precisely because of the added security in multiple algorithms. It should be easy to test surfing and download speed using each option to determine whether the gain in performance is worth sacrificing a little security.

SSID Masking

An SSID is the name of your wireless network. If you have a wireless modem, it is possible to see the SSID of all networks in the area. The idea of preventing a break-in by hiding the front door is an appealing one, and SSID masking is a hot topic in wireless security. Despite coming up repeatedly, it is not effective at all.

All router manufacturers now support SSID masking, but it makes little difference. Several freeware utilities are available to perform an action called network scanning. Some of the older versions of utilities, like inSSIDer 1.0 and Kismet, won't show the SSID, but they will provide other information, including the security protocol in use.

Hidden SSIDs can even work against you. They require more effort during setup, and you will experience connection problems. Also, mobile devices will have to ping to find the hidden network. They will continue pinging no matter where you go, and this lets anyone with a network scanner know you have a hidden network at home.

MAC-filtering

Every wireless device with a network adapter has a unique Media Access Control, or MAC, address. It is possible to spoof another device's MAC address, but this requires special software and dedication. Enabling a MAC filter will prevent any device from connecting that is not pre-configured into the system. This can be a pain for visitors trying to access the network, but it creates a more secure environment when used with WPA or WPA2.

Most home networks will be safe by simple virtue of anonymity. Hackers will use network scanners to locate WEP-encrypted networks due to the ease of cracking them, but other security features are generally too much trouble.

Best Server for Your Website or Blog|stock rom go to rompure.com

When you first set up your website, you'll need to choose a server to host the pages. Though shared servers are typically the most economical choice, more businesses are choosing to use virtual private servers or dedicated servers because they offer greater protection and more speed. To determine which server is best for your website, it's important to understand the benefits and features you'll receive with each type.

Virtual Private Servers

VPS vs Dedicated Server
A typical web server

A virtual private server offers many of the same benefits as a dedicated server for a lower cost. If your website is hosted on a virtual private server, you are technically sharing the server space with other users. However, your site is partitioned off onto its own portion of the server so that you have greater privacy and security. Because the server is shared, you'll pay less than you would for a fully dedicated server.

Virtual private servers generally place greater restrictions on users. Though you'll have freedom to install most software programs, you might encounter strict limitations on the amount of disk space and RAM you can use. They also have slower processing times, which can affect the speed at which your website loads.

Dedicated Servers

By choosing a dedicated server, you'll enjoy full control over every aspect of your hosting. Many dedicated servers are not managed, which means that you will be responsible for updating and installing programs on the system. However, most hosting providers offer management services for those who are not technically-inclined. With a dedicated server, you'll have greater flexibility, extensive storage space and quick processing times.

dedicated servers
Dedicated Server Infrastructure

Of course, dedicated servers are more expensive than virtual private servers because you receive so many additional features. A dedicated server costs more to run, particularly if you have to pay an additional fee to have it managed each month. If your physical server is stored at your business and managed by someone from within your company, you'll also need to account for the maintenance costs associated with keeping it on the premises.

Choosing the Best Server for Your Website

To determine which server is best for your website, outline what you need from your server and what you're willing to pay for those features. Dedicated servers are typically best suited for large companies or for businesses who need extreme security and control from their servers. Virtual private servers are a smart option for businesses on a budget, as they offer an option between costly dedicated servers and unreliable shared hosting. Whether you choose a virtual private server or a dedicated server, your business will benefit from the greater storage space and security.

Wirelessly Transfer Files on Android Devices With Dropbox|stock rom go to rompure.com

As great as smart phones have become when it comes to handling our digital lives, there are still a few tiresome concessions we make for their use. One is having to plug our device into our computer in order to transfer files. Some manufacturers such as Apple have launched new services to alleviate that using cloud computing. Here is one way you can send files to your Android based phone completely free without the help of a USB cable.

Transfer files android wireless
Transferring files wirelessly on Android using Dropbox is easy

Step 1: On your computer, navigate to dropbox.com and download the application installer.

Step 2: Once the application has been downloaded, run it and an initial set up wizard should begin.

Step 3: Using the initial set up wizard, create a Dropbox account by entering your name, email address and computer name.

Step 4: A folder called Dropbox should now be available on your computer. Put any file you wish to wirelessly send to your phone in this folder.

Step 5: On your Android phone, open your App drawer and open the Market application.

Step 6: Search for Dropbox and install the application.

Step 7: Once installed, return home and re-open your App drawer and start up the Dropbox app.

Step 8: Tap the existing Dropbox account button and log in using the account you just created in step 3.

You should now see any files you have in the Dropbox folder. Transferring additional files to your phone wirelessly is now as easy as dragging them into the folder and starting the app on your phone. Dropbox allows you to send up to 2GBs of data for free. Any files larger than that will either have to be transferred via hard connection or you’ll have to sign up for a 50 or 100 GB plan.

5 Storage Models and their Most Glaring Vulnerabilities|stock rom go to rompure.com

Protecting your business starts with protecting your data. Whether you’re a small business who has customer credit card data stored on a computer or whether you’re a large corporation with a database containing thousands of security numbers, the risk is the same. Even at home, if you have important electronic documents, you should have storage security concerns.

Data Storage Risks & Vulnerabilities
There was a time that storage options were limited. You could choose to store your data locally, on a small hard drive, or you could store it on a removable disk. Over the past two decades storage options have expanded exponentially. Today, we have more storage options than ever, with higher capacity than we would have dreamed just 20 years ago.

Here is a look at a few storage models, along with some thoughts about their vulnerabilities:

1. Online storage (Cloud Storage). Online data storage is one of the safest and most secure options. World-class data security protocols protect your information, and redundant systems make sure that, even if a particular piece of hardware at the online storage provider fails, your data is safe and secure. The biggest vulnerabilities with online data storage have to do with the client computer or device that accesses it. You still need to follow best practices in terms of the computers that access the data in your online storage.

2. Hard drive storage. For a small business, data is often stored on the local hard drive or hard drives in the office. In many cases, there is no backup procedure, and there is no built-in redundancy. Your data is susceptible to loss through physical failure of the hard drive, having a virus infect the PC, and user error. Important data should almost never be stored on a local hard drive if you can help it.

3. Magnetic tapes. In some instances, using magnetic tapes for long-term data storage can be a good option. They don’t have the same risk of becoming infected with a virus that a hard drive will have. They have some other vulnerabilities, however, in that they have to be handled properly or risk physical damages. In addition, they’re dependent on backup hardware and software to access the data in the future.

4. Network storage. Network data storage is a step up from hard drive storage. This is the process whereby you store data on a network device, or on a server. The device or server will usually have some built-in redundancy to protect it from failure. The obvious downside to network storage is that, if the network isn’t accessible, neither is your data.

5. Removable media. Other media, like USB devices, flash drives, SD cards, DVDs and more can also be used to store data. Every one of these is highly susceptible to theft, loss, and physical damage. These media are wonderful for temporarily storing data that has to go from one location to another, but that’s about the extent of their usefulness.

Tips for Starting Your Own Business|stock rom go to rompure.com

Whether you are just getting started with your business or you are still in the brainstorming process, it can be a pretty scary thing to venture out on your own and start a business. How do you pull it off? What risks are involved? Should you apply for small business loans? These are some things you are probably going to want to find out. Here is a list of tips that could help you as you start off on the exciting adventure of starting your own business.

Experience It’s probably not the best idea to try and start a business if you have absolutely no work experience. The idea of working for someone else may not appeal to you, and the reality of starting from the bottom to get to the top might disgust you, but the fact is you need some work experience. One way to think of your job is like a research time period. You get to see the ins and outs of different businesses and see what works what doesn’t work and what you would change if you were able. It may also be a good idea to take some classes so that you are able to speak the language of business and finance.

Start a Business

Raise money Always overestimate how much money you think your start-up business is going to need. Do this so that you do not fail to meet projections. It is harder to raise money after you fail to make projections. This is when you can also go to the bank and try to get a small business loan.

Write out a business plan Do not keep your business plan in your head. Things get lost and forgotten in our heads and so they are not the best place to keep your business plan. Write out your business plan. Your written plan is also the key to raising money. You can show people what your plans are and that can lure in financers. Your plan should include things like: market data, tests to prove your product is going to sell, sales projections and profits, long term goals, and more.

Create your team When you are planning out your business and trying to figure out who you are going to involve there are some things you should think about. First what are your strengths and weaknesses? Once you know the areas in which you are more weak you can hire people or partner up with people who will make up for that weakness.

Xiaomi Mi 5c Tipped to Be Powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC

Xiaomi Mi 5c Rumors

Xiaomi Mi 5c, the affordable variant of the Xiaomi's Mi 5 smartphone is reported to launch sometime this month, ahead of MWC. Running up to the long-rumoured launch, the Xiaomi Mi 5c has been leaked revealing processor information. Furthermore, a fresh Xiaomi leak also sheds some light on the rumored Snapdragon 835 processor situation expected in the Mi 6 flagship.

According to GizChina, the Xiaomi Mi 5c will be powered by the 14nm Snapdragon 625 processor. It is further expected to sport 3GB of RAM and offer 64GB of inbuilt storage. As for the camera, the Mi 5c is tipped to sport a 12-megapixel sensor at the rear and an 8-megapixel sensor at the front for selfies. The Xiaomi smartphone is said to pack a 3200mAh battery and run on MIUI 8 out of the box.

The 3c certification listing revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5c will use a 5V/2A power adapter, meaning that the Mi 5c will not support fast charging. The Xiaomi smartphone is tipped to come with narrow bezels and a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection.

Leaked images of the device show us how the Xiaomi budget smartphone is supposed to look from all angles. The smartphone was first tipped to launch in December, but that didn't happen, and its now expected to see the light of day this month.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Concept

Xiaomi is also tipped to launch the Mi 6 flagship phone soon after, in March or April. The big highlight of the device is expected to be the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC, but now a fresh leak hints that the Xiaomi smartphone is tipped to launch with a lower clocked version of the Snapdragon 835 processor. Reports from GizChina state that the device will be clocked down to 1.8GHz. This is done typically to enhance battery performance and manage heat diffusion.

Past leaks suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in two variants - one of which will sport a dual edged curved body and 6GB of RAM.

Razer Acquires Nextbit

In a surprise move, cloud-based smartphone maker Nextbit announced that it has been acquired by gaming company Razer. While the financial details have not been disclosed, the company's assets and employees will be absorbed by Razer moving forward.

In its blog, Nextbit said, "Nextbit will operate as an independent division inside Razer, focused on unique mobile design and experiences. To put it simply, we'll be doing exactly what we've been doing all along, only bigger and better."

With Razer running things, Nextbit will supposedly get the much required financial backing to make bolder products. Nextbit started off with a Kickstarter backing of as much as $1.3 million from more than 3,600 backers. It managed to reach its goal of $500,000 in just twelve hours instead of a month. The $1 million goal was achieved in a span of just two weeks. Their pitch was a 'smartphone that will never run out of storage'. As a result, the Nextbit Robin smartphone was released last year, with 100GB cloud storage facility.

Even though the company has announced that the acquisition won't change things much, the company is said to have stopped selling the Nextbit Robin and its accessories. It says that it will fulfil warranties for the next six months only, which means recent buyers won't get the promised one-year warranty. Software updates and security patches will be supported till February 2018.

Sony Cyber-shot HX350 With 50X Optical Zoom Launched in India at Rs. 28,990

Sony Cyber-shot HX350

Sony last month launched the successor to the Cyber-shot HX300, the Cyber-shot HX350 a super-zoom camera. The company on Monday announced that the camera will be available in India priced at Rs. 28,990. To recall, the camera had been launched in Europe at EUR 449 (roughly Rs. 32,600).

As noted during the launch not much seems to have changed in the new Sony Cyber-shot HX350. The camera features a back-illuminated 20.4-megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor and an up-to-date BIONZ X image processor. The ISO range is rated at ISO 80-3200, which can be expanded to 12800 in multi-frame NR mode. A focal length of 24mm at the wide end and 1200mm at the telephoto end (35mm equivalent) can be achieved while the available aperture is f/2.8-6.3. This provides you with a 50x optical zoom, which makes it ideal for wildlife photography or for shooting distant objects.

Sony Cyber-shot HX350

The Sony Cyber-shot HX350 features handy features like a manual ring for smooth adjustment of zoom and focus, plus an easily-accessible mode dial and custom button for quick adjustment of settings. It also has full PASM controls. The camera is capable of 10fps burst shooting and can record video up to 1080p at 60fps. There's also a tiltable 3-inch LCD display with a 921k-dot resolution but sadly, it likes connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or NFC on board.

It uses a USB 2.0 for interfacing with a PC for transferring content over and Micro-HDMI port for viewing the content you've shot directly on an HDTV. It doesn't have any microphone or headphone socket present.

Sony Cyber-shot HX350

In order to prevent camera shake, the Cyber-shot HX350 retains the optical SteadyShot feature which helps keep the video steady. The inbuilt Intelligent Active Mode keeps full-HD videos sharp and blur-free with Sony's proprietary frame analysis technology.

Now Secure Your Facebook accounts With A Physical USB Key

Facebook Security Key

Facebook has introduced a new login authentication mechanism to allow user accounts to be secured with a physical USB key. Securing accounts with a physical key is considered one of the best ways that users can take control of the security of their accounts.

However, not just any USB can be converted to a USB key required for Facebook login authentication. Currently, USB keys supporting the U2F standard are supported and users will have to get one of these to use the physical USB key security feature on Facebook.

Facebook U2F Security Key

The U2F standard has been developed by Google and Yubico, hosted by an industry association created specifically for overseeing the specifications of an open authentication system known as the Fido Alliance. U2F provides strong two-factor authentication using public key cryptography. You can find a number of U2F keys in India. The FIDO U2F Security Key from HyperFido has a tiny form factor and is available for just Rs 1,482 while the YubiKey Tricolour Pack from Yubico has three USB keys in the colours of the Indian tricolour flag, and is available for Rs 5,000.

The keys can only be used to authenticate Facebook logins on the Google Chrome and Opera browsers. Mozilla is working to add U2F support to its browser. The physical security option is, only available to desktop users. U2F keys with NFC tags can be used to authenticate Facebook logins from select Android devices that have NFC capabilities. The latest version of Chrome and Google Authenticator have to be installed on the device for U2F keys to work. In the security settings menu, under login approvals, users can add a number of physical USB keys to authenticate logins.

The additional safety feature is particularly useful for sensitive accounts such as activists, social workers and government officials. Sensitive accounts being compromised can lead to far-reaching consequences that can affect groups or communities of people instead of just one individual. Regular users can secure their accounts with two-factor authentication, where a code is sent via SMS to the mobile phone of the person. The USB security key can be used for people with spotty SMS coverage, or when using a mobile phone is not an option.

The physical security key prevents digital attempts to compromise accounts, such as social engineering or phishing scams. The USB key provides cryptographic proof that the intended user is accessing the account. The login process is simple, the button on the USB keys have to be pressed on login, and the physical verification is done. The same key can be used to authenticate access to GitHub, Salesforce, Gmail and DropBox. Logging into other services is secure, as the key itself does not keep track of where it has been used.

Bett 2017

The Redmond giant, Microsoft at the Bett 2017 Edu-Tech conference in London announced its new budget line-up of Windows 10 laptops starting at $189.  Along with the PCs, Microsoft also announced a new cloud-based service dubbed Microsoft Intune for Education. The company made announcements alongside Google, which declared its focus on classroom-centric Chromebooks.

The company claims that the new Windows 10 PCs offer "power, performance and security" to schools at the same price as the Chromebooks. In partnership with OEMs, Microsoft has unveiled Windows 10 PCs from Acer, HP, and Lenovo. Microsoft's Intune for Education is claimed to be engineered to integrate with Windows 10 and other cloud services including Office 365 Education. Intune for Education will be available in preview in the coming weeks and will be available this spring at $30 per device, and via volume licensing.

Acer TravelMate Spin B118 Convertible Notebook

The new Windows 10 laptop line-up includes Acer's TravelMate Spin B118 Convertible Notebook featuring an 11.6-inch convertible notebook with a 360-degree hinge. It will be available at a starting price of $299 (roughly Rs. 20,500). The laptop supports four usage modes and runs on Windows 10 Pro with a stylus to support Windows Ink. Acer claims a battery life of up to 13 hours.

Lenovo ThinkPad 11e

Lenovo also updated its education line of Windows 10 ThinkPad devices, with the announcement of the new ThinkPad 11e series which will come in both clam-shell and Yoga form-factors with Windows 10. The Chinese company touts a battery life of up to 11 hours and the new laptops also include a military standard for handling rough usage. The Yoga 11e comes with a pen and supports Windows Ink. Lenovo also unveiled its new Lenovo N24 running Windows 10 and support for Windows Ink. The N24 is a convertible notebook featuring an 11.6-inch IPS display with 360-degree screen rotation, 10-point touch, and an Active Pen with pen holder.

Much as the Lenovo N24, the Lenovo N22 and N23 Yoga are also durable notebooks built specifically for education and will be available at $189 (roughly Rs. 13,000) and $249 (roughly Rs. 17,000), respectively.

Now, let's talk about Intune. Microsoft says that Intune for Education service is specially designed for schools and to make it easier for either IT admins or teachers to manage shared devices. The service offers express setup feature to set up default policies for all the devices and users in a class, school or district. The service lets schools customise over 150 granular settings including helping them to assign a student and apply them to hardware, apps, browsers, the start menu, Windows Defender and more.

Intune for Education is claimed to make assigning and deploying any combination of Web apps or education apps from the Windows Store for Business much easier.

"At Microsoft, our mission is to empower every person on the planet to achieve more. For students, we are committed to enabling better learning and preparation for the future through software and devices built for the modern era," Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President, Windows and Devices Group said in the blog post.

Announcing the new service, Medhi stressed that the company despite making advancements in education sector lacked few things including a tool for schools to set up and manage the connected devices and affordable devices for students.

Minecraft: Education Edition

Microsoft at the Bett 2017 conference also announced an update to Minecraft: Education Edition which brings features that were requested by the community.
