The LeEco Le Pro 3 is official

LeEco has officially unveiled the Le Pro 3 in China. In terms of specs, it's a beast of a phone with top of the line hardware and a massive battery. It’s not as much of a beast as we expected, however.

LeEco's Le Pro 3 boasts of a 5.5-inch FHD display with 2.5D glass and a Snapdragon 821 SoC backed by up to 6GB of RAM (though we were expecting 8GB) under the hood. The rear camera is a 16MP, f/2.0 unit with PDAF and dual-LED flash; it can also record 4K video at 30fps. The front camera is an 8MP unit with an f/2.2 aperture and is capable of recording at 1080p.

The phone runs eUI 5.8, which is a skin on top of Android 6.0 (we expected Nougat). As with the Le 2 and Le Max 2, LeEco dumps the 3.5mm headphone jack the in favour of CDLA (digital audio over USB Type-C).
You get the usual array of sensors in the form of a fingerprint reader, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, etc. The usual connectivity options of Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, etc., are also present. All of this draws juice from a 4,070 mAh battery.

The phone will be available in Rose Gold, Gold, Silver and Gray in the following configurations:

  • 4GB RAM, 32GB storage: 1799 Yuan (around Rs 18,000)
  • 6GB RAM, 64GB storage: 1999 Yuan (around Rs 20,000)
  • 4GB RAM, 32GB storage special edition: 2499 Yuan (around Rs 25,100)
  • 6GB RAM, 128GB storage special edition: 2999 Yuan (around Rs 30,100)
The special edition models are identical to the regular models in terms of hardware and design (except for storage options). They're more expensive because they include a subscription to LeEco’s video service.

The devices are yet to launch in India.
