Apple is expected to unveil its new MacBook Pro 2016 laptop at its WWDC event that will take place in a month, in San Francisco. This device was supposed to be presented at the March 21 event, but instead, Apple has launched a smaller iPad Pro and the 4-inch iPhone SE. Then, in April was announced a new 12-inch MacBook 2016 and speculations and leaks suggested that the Pro variant will get a successor soon.

The 2015 model of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro received a new Broadwell chip, while the 15-inch variant still used the Haswell chips. For the 15-inch variant of the new model, Apple will use Intel’s new Skylake chips, which will offer an amazing performance, but is believed that Apple will release another variant with a Xeon E3 chip. As for the GPU, the MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to use one from AMD (based on the 14 nm FinFET process) and another one from NVIDIA (based on 16 nm FinFET Plus process).
In terms of design, the Pro laptops will be identical to the 12-inch MacBook, only that the successors will be thinner and will come with a Butterfly key mechanism that will replace the traditional Scissor mechanism. Apple has used the new mechanism in the keyboards for the MacBook 2015 and it’s “wider than the scissor mechanism and has a single assembly made from a stiffer material — allowing for a more stable, responsive key that takes up less vertical space. This innovative design improves stability, uniformity and control — no matter where you press on the key.”
Also, rumors suggest that the MacBook Pro 2016 will have a lower launch price than its predecessors. Currently, Adorama is selling the 13-inch 2015 model with 128GB of storage for $964, instead of $1,300, which was the introductory price and reports say that the new laptop will be cheaper, but fans are skeptical.
Other rumors say that two more super thin MacBooks with similar screen sizes will be unveiled in Q2 of 2016.
