Meizu m3 note Review: On Wednesday, the Chinese handset maker Meizu unveiled its new m3 smartphone in India. At an event in New Delhi, the Meizu showcased new m-series smartphone that brings a host of improvements over its predecessor i.e. the Meizu m2 note. There are some improvements in new Meizu m3 note that includes
- A new fingerprint scanner
- An all metal body
- A larger battery
- Multi-window support
Leon Zhang the Marketing Head of Meizu India, also talked about that how frequently the brand has grown in India since its debut. The company claimed that it now has around 100 service centres and they also introduced a new WhatsApp service for the Meizu users.
Meizu m3 note Review in First Impression
Let’s take a look on the Meizu m3 note, the new Meizu m3 does not really look like anything the company has launched before. Zhang also noted that the Meizu m3 note was the first all-metal m-series smartphone. The device is made of 6000 series aluminium alloy and the device sports a unibody design. The front of the device is dominated by the screen that sports 2.5D curved glass. With an embedded fingerprint scanner there is a physical home button. Above the display you will find earpiece, camera and sensors.

The rear has the antenna bands that are running along the top and the bottom. The logo of Meizu is embossed lower down. The primary camera is placed at the centre and it is accompanied by a dual-LED flash. The volume and power buttons are on right. The left has microSD and SIM card slot. The jack of 3.5mm is on the top, while the charging port and speakers are on the bottom.
Overall the Meizu m3 note looks like a solid and it fits well in the hand. The device feels sturdier than the m2 note that was made of all plastic. It features screen of 5.5-inch full-HD with LTPS screen and with a pixel density of 403ppi and the m3 note is easy to use with just one hand also.
The Meizu m3 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC and this time the company offers to 125 percent better graphics performance as compared to the m2 note. The battery of 4100mAh is one of the highlight of this device.
In China Meizu had launched two variants of m3 note i.e. one with a RAM of 2GB and with in-built storage of 16GB and the another one of 3GB of Ram and in-built storage of 32GB. But in India the company has brought only the latter variant in India.
During in our limited time with the handset, Meizu m3 note was able to handle multitasking and app switching easily without any lag. The smartphone supports 4G on both the SIMs for connectivity. Including the LTE bands the company claims that m3 note will support 6 modes and 18 frequency bands.
The physical home button on m3 mote smartphone will also works as the back button, just like them on the Meizu m2 note. The marketing Head of the Meizu India explained that during the keynote users have to tap home button to go back, while pressing it then it will take them to the homescreen.
The Meizu m3 note will run on the Flyme 5 OS that is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and the company touted that it will bring several improvements over Flyme 4.5. Meizu said that the power consumption has decreased by up to 32 percent on m3 running Flyme 5 compared to the m2 note.
The biggest highlight of the Flyme 5 is the multi-window support, that will splits the screen in two halves and the users will allow to perform the functions simultaneously. On the m3 note the users will allow have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the recently opened apps, and multi-window option appears on one of app cards. The first half of screen shows the app that was in use while the second half will be used for the another app.
The smartphone sports a rear camera of 13-megapixel with f/2.2 aperture and the phase detection autofocus. It also features the Corning gorilla Glass 3 for the lens protection. There is a front camera of 5-megapixel with an f/2.0 aperture as well.
Final Thoughts:
At Rs. 9,999 the Meizu m3 note will definitely looks like the great package and it will give tough competition to the other competitors in the price segment by including the leEco Le 1s Eco, Coolpad Note 3 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
